Therapy for overthinking, people-pleasing, self-doubt, perfectionism, and feeling stuck in your own mind.

Anxiety therapy can help if you:

  • Feel stuck in overthinking, spiraling, or constant “what if” thoughts
  • Often wonder if people are upset with you, disappointed in you, or pulling away
  • Feel responsible for managing other people’s emotions or keeping the peace
  • Identify as a high-achiever, over-functioner, or “the one who holds it all together”
  • Struggle with people-pleasing, guilt, or fear of letting others down
  • Try to control, plan, or perfect things as a way to feel safe
  • Have a hard time setting boundaries without feeling selfish or anxious
  • Feel anxious in relationships and worry about being judged, rejected, or misunderstood
  • Look calm and capable on the outside, but feel overwhelmed internally

What anxiety can look like:

Anxiety is not always obvious, like panic or constant worry. Sometimes it looks like perfectionism, overthinking every conversation, needing reassurance, avoiding conflict, staying busy, or feeling like you have to stay in control to feel okay.

Anxiety can also show up as a fawn response, which is a trauma response rooted in adapting to feel safe, accepted, or connected. For many people, this does not come from one single traumatic event, but from repeated “small t” experiences over time that taught you to monitor others, avoid conflict, manage emotions, or change yourself to prevent disapproval. When your nervous system learns that staying agreeable, helpful, controlled, or easygoing keeps you safe, it can feel deeply uncomfortable to do anything different. This is why setting boundaries, disappointing someone, making your own choices, or not taking responsibility for someone else’s emotions can feel so anxiety-provoking.
